Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using PsyDuck (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

PsyDuck is operated by Farnodes. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Farnodes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use PsyDuck. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with local laws and any rules of the network you connect through (school, workplace, mobile carrier, etc.).

3. Accounts & profiles

• Guest play uses a device-generated identifier plus a display name you choose.
• You are responsible for activity under your profile and for keeping your device secure.
• Do not impersonate others or use offensive, misleading, or illegal display names.
• We may suspend or remove profiles that violate these Terms or harm other players.

4. Gameplay rules

When playing Truthy & Falsy and other PsyDuck modes:

• Fake answers must not be the correct answer and must not duplicate another player’s submission (case and spacing are normalized).
• Voting — you may not vote for your own fake answer. Votes must select another player’s submitted answer text.
• Scoring — +2 for voting the correct answer; +1 when another player votes for your fake. Final scores are determined by server logic and are final for that match.
• Lobbies — PIN codes expire after inactivity. Hosts control round count (3, 5, 7, or 10) and starting the game.
• Disconnects — brief reconnect windows apply; prolonged absence may remove you from the lobby or end the match per server rules.

Attempting to exploit bugs, automate play, or interfere with realtime connections is prohibited.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players.
• Submit hate speech, sexually explicit content, or illegal material as answers.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload our servers or APIs.
• Circumvent security, access controls, or rate limits.
• Use the App for commercial purposes without our written consent.
• Collect other players’ personal information without consent.

6. User content

Answers, display names, and avatars you submit (“User Content”) are your responsibility. You grant Farnodes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and process User Content solely to operate and improve the game (including showing your fake answers to other players in the same lobby).

We may remove User Content or end sessions that violate these Terms, without notice.

7. Intellectual property

PsyDuck, including its name, logo, art, trivia curation, software, and game mechanics, is owned by Farnodes or its licensors. The App’s source code is released under the MIT License where applicable; that license governs code redistribution, not commercial use of Farnodes trademarks.

You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App or its branding except as permitted by applicable open-source licenses or with our permission.

8. Disclaimers

PsyDuck is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including uninterrupted service, error-free gameplay, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Trivia content is for entertainment. Do not rely on in-game answers for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Farnodes and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of PsyDuck.

Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or USD $10 if you paid nothing).

10. Termination

You may stop using PsyDuck at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.

Sections that by nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.

Disputes should first be raised with us at init@psyduck.games. We will attempt to resolve concerns in good faith before formal proceedings.
